One adventure links us all.

Animated adventure comedy from Laika Studios (ParaNorman, Coraline). Tired of solitude in the Pacific Northwest, the 8-foot-tall, 630lb fur-covered creature known as Mr. Link (voiced by Zach Galifianakis) strikes a deal with explorer Sir Lionel Frost (Hugh Jackman) - if Lionel can use Link to prove to the world he exists, in return he will help the Link find his long-lost relatives in the fabled valley of Shangri-La. Also features Zoe Saldana as Adelina Fortnight, an adventurer who has the map to Shangri-La.

Butler's occasionally inspired action-comedy fails to deliver on its initial promise, but enough of the jokes hit their mark to provide an amiable afternoon's entertainment for school holiday audiences and their chaperones.

[Laika] studio's most visually accomplished and ambitious film to date.

Guardian (UK)

It's a feast of a movie with dazzling visuals and terrifically acted by the voice cast.

Times (UK)

It's a witty global adventure full of bravura set pieces and sharp, stylised characters.

Empire (UK)

A charming family-friendly story about adventure and friendship - told with bar-raising artistic craft and technical skill. We'd expect nothing less from Laika.

Hollywood Reporter

A globe-trotting Victorian-era adventure that, while often a magnificent sight to behold, never goes the distance in terms of engaging characters and involving plotting.

Variety (USA)

As proof that humans can evolve... "Missing Link" makes a most excellent case. And that doesn't even count the cutting-edge technology required to pull of such a hyper-detailed and visually dazzling feat as this.

Stuff.co.nz (James Croot)

A wicked combination of pratfalls, sight gags and verbal humour.
