Casino Royale

James Bond movie #21 with James Bond #6: Daniel Craig. Said to be the most literal adaptation of an Ian Flemmings novel ('Casino Royale' being the first of the Bond books) since Sean Connery, the film is also hoped to revitalise the franchise.

James Bond is a new recruit at the MI6 team. He's reckless and careless and on a mission. After just earning his 00 status with his first 2 kills, he is sent to the Bahamas where he is to verse Le Chiffre in a game of Texas Hold 'Em Poker. Although Bond must ensure that Le Chiffre's death comes at the hands of his own people.

Possibly the best Bond film ever

I will disclaim that I had never watched a previous Bond film in full when I first saw this, but I since have and find this film the most action packed, emotional and fulfilling.

Review

Overrated I'd say... from the reviews below, one gathers fans have thoroughly loved it. From my point of view though, the Brosnan Bond was a bit tongue in cheek and this one seems to take it self far more seriously. Too seriously, because in itself the James Bond idea is so ridiculous and has been parodied so much. I don't know, seemed a bit laughable in its seriousness.

Can't wait for the next movie.

I hate James Bond movies (and I've reluctantly seen them all)

I hate James Bond movies (and I've reluctantly seen them all)

But this one turned has converted me. I've not seen entertainment like this since the days of Indiana Jones. One of the best action and spy movies I've ever seen. Daniel Craig and NZ director Martin Cambell should be proud. It's taken them 50 years to get it right, but wow it packs a punch when they finally did!

Great Update and Breaks the old Mould

Great Update and Breaks the old Mould

This movie has at last reached the reality of the new 21st Century. The new Bond is truely a hero and one mean mother as well. While Sean Connery was great for his time our new Bond is updated and more realistic. I am looking forward to the rest of the Bond movies being updated as well as this movie has been.

Thank you Martin Campbell and Daniel Craig

Thank you Martin Campbell and Daniel Craig

Finally bond is back as he was meant to be portrayed. This one will be hard to beat. It makes me want to see it again and again. In fact I am going you see again today. Sean Connery was 007 and I missed him playing bond. Everyone after Sean tried to be 007 but just did not have that 'IT' factor. Martin you did a great job in directing Daniel. I think this is the best bond so far. Well Done!!

Thankyou, Craig. Daniel Craig.

Thankyou, Craig. Daniel Craig.

Thankyou Mr Craig. You have lit a flame of ambition, for all of those lost boys and girls out there. Thanks to Pearce Brosman, whom I lay all blame for the creation of the commercialization of the Emo Cult.

Plasticky gadgets, "shagged not screwed" Martini's, Halle Berry and the other 56 women in his last film are all in themselves justifications of my stance.

This bond is much less of a womanizer, doesn't rely on gadgets, has decent sense of humour and can take a beating.

Shallow is the man whom calls him James Blonde.

Daniel Craig: What a star

What a great re-introduction to James Bond. Daniel does a splendid job, and I thoroughly enjoyed this movie. Great action, a little romance, although less gadgets, but overall worthwhile watching.

Bond will always be BOND

This is fantastic! As a young guy Casino Royale is the perfect mix from action to fast cars....god that vanquish is HOT!...and a lil bit of romance.

Craig does an outstanding job showing to everyone that the indestructable MI6 agent has everyday person qualities, vunerable, passionate, a dam good shot...

Over all a top notch film if you're into the Bond movies and if u want to see a good action film with hot cars and hot girls...

Best Bond since Sean Connery.
